L.O.V.E.

L.O.V.E.

Well, today is that day, when people who have someone get all corny and cheesy and those who don't, become to "cool" for today. hahaah (:

Yesterday, I had the oportunity to teach a class about love to a group of Young Single Adults. hahah I know right? I got to teach about love. I based it off a talk by Elder Robbins which basically is AMAZING. Anyhow, as a teacher on the "LOVE" subject I got to listen to a lot of different opinions as to what people think love is.

I personally don't believe there is a RIGHT answer as to what love is because for everyone it's different. A couple of weeks ago I was talking to a friend about how I really didn't think love was real but after reading this talk and thinking deeply as well as praying I gained a testimony of it (:

Love is real, just because you don't have someone right now or the person you have is stupid, not here, not romantic, weird, complicated..that doesn't mean love isnt real maybe you still need to find yourself the right one (:

We all came to a conclusion though that you need to find someone who makes you want to be better (: and I can honestly tell you it's possible (; there are a lot of people out there who are worth it...but we must go through those rough ones in order to be molded to meet the Right one (: we must become the right ones in order to find the right one (:

A girl said "If I want an honest boy I have to work to be honest myself" and I couldn't agree more (:

In this talk I found the meaning I want love to have for ME (: and I quote.

" The love of which the Lord speaks is not only physical attraction, but also faith, confidence, understanding, and partnership. It is devotion and companionship, parenthood, common ideals and standards. It is cleanliness of life and sacrifice and unselfishness. This kind of love never tires nor wanes. It lives on through sickness and sorrow, through prosperity and privation, through accomplishment and disappointment, through time and eternity” (The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, 1982, 248)."
Now, to make this post a little more corny I want to give a shout out to couples that have been an example to me and give me a testimony that love is real (:

Things that make my heart happy (:

Hmmm, I think I've come up with a theme for my life.
Be where You need to be when you need to be there...whatever it takes! (:

Since graduation life has been kind of blaaah...
It's true, I haven't gone back to school and that is a HUGE reason of why but there are a lot of little details that make that not so much of an option for me at the moment. So, here I've been...
Trying to find a way to feel like I have a purpose again.

There were mornings when I'd wake up and know that other than school there was somewhere I needed to be.

R.O.C. (:

R.O.C. is a dance group that represents different cultures and goes around sharing our testimonies through dance and singing. We do firesides on sundays and perform during the week.

I've missed dancing so much its kind of sick. I've known ROC is where I've needed to be but I kept putting it off due to some small details. Finally, I decided to find a way for something that I love...dancing.

I am now part of ROC and it's the best thing ever (: the feeling I get when I wake up in the morning and think, "i have practice today" is just too much to handle. AAHHH (: Practice has been a little sad and stressful because Tour is in two weeks and I have about 6 months of coreography to catch up on but finally I have something to work for and something to look forward to (: (:

The best part out of the whole thing is...I get to dance again! (: and THAT itself is enought. When I dance it just feels like i need absolutely NOTHING (: Which now, dancing has taken a whole new level because I'm learning how to dance and share my testimony through it at the same time!!!

To think I almost let go of that opportunity for small detailss....

No more of that...

From now on, i'll be where I need to be when I need to be there...whatever it takes (:

The world around us...

I love my roomate Jordan (: she's so great.

With that out of the way...today I couldnt wait to start up my post.
Today was a really good day! Jordan and I had planned to go to a Graffitti gallery but before she told me we had to go have lunch at Joe's Cafe. At first I wasn't sure what to expect but it turned out to be the coolest southern restaurant ever!!

Joe's Cafe is basically home away from home. Joe is African american which in Orem that isn't common but its very missed. He has his southern accent which I miss so much, but something that I really loved about his place is that he's the cook, cashier, waiter, and manager. I was very impressed with the fact that you can tell he has worked so hard to have his place and he loves it (: There are pictures all over the place so we took some with him.

I ordered a Club Sandwhich and he totally didnt think i'd finish it but my pride made me want to prove him wrong and finish (:

He was being so funny about the fact that I beat him (:

Tadaaahh!!

After we went to the art show and wow!!!! It was at the mall so it wasn't far at all but we learned so much. We got to see a very special type of art that people forget and dont appreciate sometimes. I can see how graffitti can be vandalisim but that doesnt make it NOT art. We got to see so many cool things that helped us see the feelings of others through their talents.

My favorite thing about today was just being able to see a different world around the world I live in (: I learned that everyone has talents and its up to us to do something about it! But honestly, I learned that we need as many people to share their talents as possible ! It makes this world so much more fun....(:

Finally, we went to vans to look at some shoes and even the worker there shared his talent with us!!! (:

Looking back now, some of my best moments are when someone decided to share their talent with me (: There's a huge world out there and I'm so blessed to be part of it!

I make things awkward...its just what I do ! /:

Outgoing....hmmmm.....
It's sad to admit but my outgoingness is fading ):
Now...i just make things awkward...

Yesterday: the guy at the bank was being super nice to me (not the regular guy in the bank..this is another one) and he was trying soo soo hard to get me to talk but...I just couldn't get a word out!! All I could say was things like
"yes" "i know, it is cold" "no thanks" "thank you" and "okay"
It was sad! ):

and now...not only do I make people think I'm a "brat" or "stuck up" I make things awkward!!!!

SO...this is the event that causes me to update my blogg today.

I was at institute today. Ash asked me to go with her to the "dating and Courtship" class..which that itself is a problem haah but that's another topic. When the class begins our teacher says
"alright everyone get up and meet two people. Ask where they're from and what they like to do on the weekend"
I decided to play it safe by introducing myself to one of Ashley's friends, since I always see him around but I've never met...so here is how this went.
"Hi I'm mariana! whats your name?"
"Hi! I'm _____ (i dont remember his name.)But you can call me niggah licious"
(so that tells you he's a funny person..and yes he was black)
"haah Okay nigga licous. What do you like to do on weekends"
" I like to sleep"
"ohh thats fun! I love sleeping too! We should sleep together one day!!"---
uhhh??? I know!! ): idk what I was thinking but it just came out!

Thankfully niggah licious wasn't an awkward person and he just laughed but ohh man that was the worse ):

the end.
